Frequently asked questions.
What should we wear?
Dress for the weather. It’s typically cooler on the water (especially while underway) so keep that in mind.
What should we bring?
Cold water is provided. It is suggested that guests bring sunscreen, food/snacks, and beverages (if they prefer an alternative to water).
What times are available for tours?
School’s Out is happy to run tours from sunrise to sunset.
Will we get wet?
This depends on the conditions and where you are sitting on the boat. On windy days, there is likely to be spray blowing aboard the boat while underway.
How do I reserve a date?
Once we agree on your tour date and time, a $50 deposit will be required to hold that date.
Is my deposit refundable?
Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel at least 8 days prior to your cruise. Cancellations are not refundable made within the final 7 days leading to your departure. So if you are booked for Saturday at 10AM, you would need to cancel your cruise prior to 10AM the Saturday before. The only exception is outlined below when the Captain initiates the cancellation.
What happens when a tour is cancelled by the Captain due to weather?
While the Captain will make every effort to get the trip in, ultimately weather may present unsafe conditions and force a cancellation. Ideally a tour will be rescheduled. If it cannot be rescheduled, the $50 deposit will be refunded.
Do you offer fishing charters?
This has been one of our most common questions. While we don’t specialize in fishing charters, we are happy to create a fishing trip as a customized charter. Let us know what you are looking to do and we can design an outing as well as discuss the pros and cons versus using a traditional fishing charter service.
